Andrew Pressman, FAIA, NCARB, teaches the required graduate-level Professional Practice course. He is the author of Professional Practice 101: A Compendium of Effective Business Strategies in Architecture, now in its third edition. Pressman previously served as Professor and Director of the architecture program at the University of New Mexico, where he is now Professor Emeritus.

Julie Gabrielli
Julie Gabrielli’s work as a writer, architect, and professor aligns with the environmental humanities in our time of climate collapse and environmental reconciliation. She was a founding principal in 2001 of TerraLogos eco architecture and in 2013, her firm, Gabrielli Design Studio, was named Baltimore Magazine's Best Remodeling Architect.
Deok-Oh Woo
Dr. Woo earned his Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Michigan, specializing in building technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from Yonsei University in the Republic of Korea. His research centers on performance-based building design, mechanical systems in buildings, and building automation systems.
Tara Burke
Tara supports MAPP’s researchers, scholars, practitioners, and graduate students in developing competitive proposals for funding. Her knowledge of research capacity-building, networking, proposal development and multidisciplinary collaborations promote institutional growth. She facilitates the cross-campus Smart Cities Initiative—a collaboration with the College of Information.
Ansley Jacobs
Ansley Jacobs is a Climate and Sustainability Program Assistant at the University of Maryland's Environmental Finance Center, where she provides research and technical assistance to communities across the Mid-Atlantic region. Her work supports climate action planning and resilience building efforts at the municipal and regional scale.
