IMPORTANT: All undergraduate students must bring a completed Four-Year Plan to their mandatory advising session! The Four-Year Plan is essential to the advising process, and it will clarify to the advisor what requirements you have already fulfilled and when in the future you will fulfill the rest. Not only does ensure you are on track to graduate, it helps the advisors tailor their advising session to your specific needs and interests. The Office of Student Services provides academic advising for current and prospective students. Advisors are available to answer students’ questions by phone (301-405-8000), e-mail, or in person (by appointment only). Students can meet with an academic advisor for help with course selection and registration each semester or can consult with an advisor on an as-needed basis.

Transfer Students
For students currently or previously enrolled at another institution and have not attended the University of Maryland, College Park before, you must follow the Office of Undergraduate Admissions process to apply as a transfer student.
Prospective Transfer students can learn more about the University of Maryland’s transfer process on this UMD Transfer Resources page.
Transfer courses that have already been evaluated can be found in the Transfer Database. If you would like to request an evaluation of a course(s) not appearing in the database, simply send an email to transfercredit@umd.edu with your name, UID (if you are a current student), name of the institution where the course was taken, the course ID and course title at the transfer institution, along with a detailed course syllabus.
