Graduate Advising

Home Student Resources Graduate Advising

Graduate students should meet with their program advisor at least once every semester in advance of registration to review their progress and to plan their schedule for upcoming semesters. Incoming graduate students are encouraged to work directly with their advisor as they transition into their program and select courses for their first semester.

Graduate Advising for Architecture Students

Graduate students are advised by the Program Manager of Student Services. Meetings occur each semester before registration to review progress and plan schedules. New students should consult the Program Manager for course selection.

  • Students must schedule appointments during office hours via TerpEngage or by email.

Real Estate Development Graduate Advising

Graduate students with advising questions for the Master of Real Estate Development should schedule an appointment with the Director of the Real Estate Development Program, Tanya Bansal (tbansal@umd.edu).

Historic Preservation Advising

Urban Studies & Planning Advising

Graduate students are advised by a team of advisors after attending a group advising session once per semester. New students receive information and advising from the URSP Program Coordinator. In addition, URSP graduate students are assigned faculty mentors in their first year based on mutual interest and availability.
