Terraplan is the University of Maryland’s new student-run planning publication, which celebrates the creativity and research of students in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. The inaugural issue is themed “Our Nature.”

The final report summarizes a technical support project implemented by the Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland (EFC), in partnership with Main Street Economics, on behalf of the Calvert County, Maryland government.

The Do Good Institute, in partnership with the Office of the Provost, is proud to recognize 57 incredible UMD staff and faculty with the Provost’s Do Good Innovator Award. The Architecture Program opened its first Spring 2024 lecture series with architecture alum Joseph Kunkel (M.ARCH ’09) on Wednesday, February 7. His lecture, “Designing with Dignity: Policy, Advocacy, and the Art of Architecture,” provided insight on his work in the context of policy and its connection to Native land.

Michael Ezban and Brittany Williams have been promoted to associate clinical professors by the University of Maryland's Architecture Program. The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) has announced Mohammad Gharipour, the director of the Architecture Program, as a 2024 Architectural Education Awards recipient. The national awards honor architectural educators' exemplary work in building design, community collaborations, scholarship and service.

Associate Clinical Professor Brittany Williams (B.S. Architecture '05, M.ARCH '07) has joined six academic professionals from across the nation to help bridge the gap between architectural practice and academia as a member of the AIA 2024-2025 Higher Education Advisory Team.
