Nick Finio

Nick Finio, Ph.D. is the Associate Director of NCSG, and a graduate of the UMD Urban and Regional planning URPD PhD and MCP programs. His research is focused on the measurement, causes, and consequences of neighborhood change and the links between social inequality and land use policy and regional planning. He works primarily works on community development projects and housing research with Kathryn Howell, Gerrit Knaap, and Casey Dawkins.  Nick supports the Purple Line Corridor Coalition in its efforts to create a more equitable and sustainable transit corridor through data analysis, research, writing, and public engagement. His work has been funded by Montgomery County, Maryland, NCHRP, HUD, the Federal Transit Administration, and the State of Maryland. As Associate Director, Nick supports the day-to-day operations of NCSG through coordination with staff, students, and faculty on various issues.
