Four undergraduate students from the University of Maryland were selected to be a part of the Ferguson Centers for Leadership Excellence’s (CLE) third class of Ferguson Fellows.

Manasa Alur, Kerem Bulut, Anjali Sharma and Cameron Williams are among 62 students that were selected for this year’s program, which supports students pursuing careers in real estate or related fields through financial and professional opportunities.

“Our partnership with the Ferguson Foundation has afforded these very deserving students the opportunity to strengthen their real estate development education with scholarship support, mentorships, networking opportunities and skill-building,” said Maria Day-Marshall, director of the Colvin Institute for Real Estate Development. “We congratulate them on their selection and thank the foundation for its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Created in 2022 by real estate executive Bill Ferguson, the Ferguson CLE is a two-year program offering financial assistance, coaching, 1:1 mentorship and career opportunities to students from racial, ethnic and gender-diverse backgrounds. This year’s 62 fellows were chosen from a pool of over 150 applicants from universities and colleges across the U.S.

This the third time a group of University of Maryland students have been selected for the fellowship; UMD’s current Ferguson CLE fellows are Elliot Genus, Tyree Francis, Samira Raoufi and Megan Wong. Last month, they participated in a day of networking, skill-building and shadowing employees at Berkadia, a commercial real estate company, to learn more about the industry.
