A minor in Construction Project Management prepares students for management careers related to the built environment, including project management, architectural engineering, and design and construction. The Construction Project Management Minor offers a working knowledge of daily construction operations and gives students a competitive advantage when applying for these jobs.
Students will learn how to manage all phases of operation and management in the construction process including building information modeling, cost estimating, project scheduling, construction financing and planning. In addition, students will study design and contact law, safety requirements and the types of materials and methods used in construction. The minor is administered by the A. James Clark School of Engineering, exclusively for students of School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation (MAPP) or the Clark School.
Curriculum
Completion of the minor requires 15 credit hours (5 courses). The program is designed with a foundation of four core courses and one elective. All courses are shown below. The minor also requires a summer full-time paid internship in the construction industry after you declare the minor.
For the core courses, students must choose to take either ARCH 472 or ENCE 426.

Eligibility
This Minor is only available to undergraduate students in the A. J. Clark School of Engineering and the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation who have earned at least 60 credit hours (Junior standing) and have a Maryland GPA of 3.0 or higher.
How to Apply
Interested students must complete an application to the Minor and get approval from his/her Major advisor and the CPM Minor advisor for his/her school. Students can get an application from his/her Major advisor or view this application below:

Students must apply before the spring semester of their junior year. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
