PALS Projects Focus On Community Impact For the Fall 2023 Semester
This fall, the Partnership for Action Learning in Sustainability program (PALS) has continued its efforts to solve Maryland’s toughest issues with the help of the university’s brightest students and faculty. Administered by MAPP’s National Center for Smart Growth (NCSG), PALS works to connect students in a variety of disciplines with real-world experiential learning while providing assistance to local Maryland jurisdictions for addressing sustainability issues.

Brittany Williams Joins AIA Higher Education Advisory Team

Michael Ezban and Brittany Williams Promoted to Associate Clinical Professors
Michael Ezban and Brittany Williams have been promoted to associate clinical professors by the University of Maryland's Architecture Program. As practicing educators in the field, both professors have used their expertise to expand the architecture curriculum through their coursework and professional work."Michael and Brittany bring practice and research into the classroom," said Dean Dawn Jourdan. "Through their teaching and service, these faculty have helped guide and prepare our students for thoughtful and sustainable architecture practice."
Joseph Kunkel: Highlighting Native History, Policy and Design
The Architecture Program opened its first Spring 2024 lecture series with architecture alum Joseph Kunkel (M.ARCH ’09) on Wednesday, February 7. His lecture, “Designing with Dignity: Policy, Advocacy, and the Art of Architecture,” provided insight on his work in the context of policy and its connection to Native land.
