Spring 2024 Colvin Capstone Competition Winner - First Prize

The Eastern Exchange, the dynamic nexus where creativity thrives at the crossroads of Washington D.C. and Maryland. This transformative project redefines the Kaywood Shopping Center into a hub of artistic innovation and cultural exchange, meeting LEED Gold standards with unparalleled City support and limited competition. Discover lively Blackbox theaters, enticing retail offerings, inspiring artist studios, and a pioneering restaurant incubator. The Eastern Exchange also provides artist housing, allowing artists to showcase their work in the on-site art gallery. From visual arts to music, podcast, animation, and entrepreneurship. The Eastern Exchange incubates creativity, empowering Mount Rainer’s diverse cultural communities. Join us-where innovation sparks inspiration and every corner pulses with possibility.
