Melina Misri

Lecturer, Architecture

mmisri@umd.edu

Melina graduated from the Master of Architecture program at the University of Oregon in Portland and earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland in College Park. While her academic background is in architecture, Melina has worked across a range of creative disciplines in design studios around the world, exploring interior architecture, furniture design, branding, and installation design.

Her passion for education grew after graduating from the University of Oregon, when she was invited to return and mentor graduate students, helping them develop their design skills, strengthen their conceptual thinking, and refine their projects. After spending time working as a freelance designer, Melina began teaching interiors, architecture, and design from introductory courses to graduate studios. Through teaching, she has deepened her interest in education and pedagogy, while developing a strong commitment to mentorship and supporting students in their creative and professional growth.
