Medessa has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental, public health, and education-related fields.  She joined the Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland in 2011 and currently serves as Assistant Director. In this role she provides administrative oversight and leadership for the Center, managing its day-to-day operations, staffing, and communications. She oversees proposal development activities, ensures quality control and assurance across awards and deliverables, and supports the Center’s strategic planning, program development, and account management activities, all while expanding and enhancing connections within the University and wider stakeholder community. Medessa also oversees a number of projects related to air quality, stormwater, and online education and training. Prior to joining EFC, Medessa worked as a Project Director for Shattuck & Associates, Inc. performing technical assistance, training, capacity building, and practical evaluation for government and non-governmental health and education organizations. She received a Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.S. in Biology from Centre College in her home state of Kentucky.
