Karen Gouws-Dewar

kgdewar@umd.eduKaren Gouws-Dewar is a transportation planner at UMD that works on projects improving accessibility and safety. She has a background in planning and environmental science, and enjoys using analytical tools such as Python to find unique solutions to challenging problems. Before working at UMD, she worked as a GIS Analyst at Coastal Resources, working on mapping tasks such as finding viable stream mitigation sites throughout the state of Maryland, or assessing the progress of wetland mitigation sites in the DMV. She has a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a minor in Geography.
