Gary Bowden

Professor Emeritus, Architecture Program

The School’s first appointment as Professor of the Practice was Gary Bowden, appointed by former Dean Steve Hurtt. Steve had met Gary years before when they were both young teachers, with Gary at Hampton University.  Gary had a long professional career and became a partner at RTKL in Baltimore. Nearing the firm’s mandatory retirement status, Gary came to our school full of knowledge, wisdom and an evident penchant for teaching. Gary Bowden proved to be a wonderful colleague and teacher and came to be held in the highest regard by students and faculty alike.
