Accounting Clerk II, Environmental Finance Center

echarle5@umd.edu (301) 314-2195

Room 2238, Anacostia Building

Hello, my name is Esthebe Charles, but I prefer to be called Steby. I joined the School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation in October 2023 and currently work as part time accounting clerk with the Environmental Finance Center (EFC). My role includes mainly helping with accounting and other administrative/business needs. I have a passion for numbers and financial management. My journey in the world of finance began 20 years ago at a Microfinance Institution created to bring financial inclusion and development services to Haiti’s most vulnerable. During my time with them, I worked in different departments and handled different projects. I am hoping to be able to utilize my skills here. Furthermore, I am looking forward to going back to school to receive my bachelor’s in accounting.

Education:

  • Intensive training program for Financial Inclusion within the Microfinance Industry, Boulder Institute of Microfinance
  • Certification Program in Financial Accounting, Duquesne University, PA
