White House Office of Science & Technology Policy (OSTP) Priority Memo: Science, A New Golden Age
Location: Zoom
This event is part of the Fall 2026 Research | Practice Development Workshop Series. Faculty, researchers, staff and graduate students are all welcome!
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s new report, Science: A New Golden Age, calls for a significant reorientation of the federal research enterprise. The iterative model is built around industry–university–government collaboration, shared research facilities, translational programs, regional manufacturing clusters, entrepreneurship, and speed from discovery to market.
How might this shift affect your research? Join us for a panel discussion exploring questions such as:
- What might the federal pivot toward industry mean for university research?
- What kinds of industry partnerships could strengthen future proposals?
- How can faculty find and develop appropriate corporate collaborators?
- What institutional resources are available to support these relationships?
- What opportunities—and challenges—might this emerging model create across MAPP disciplines?
