Brentwood Town Hall with solar panels

EFC, in partnership with the Town of Brentwood, MD, and Nature Forward, is working to implement equitable climate resilience strategies in the Brentwood community, with a focus on engaging Latinx residents and businesses. This project, funded by the Climate Resilience Fund, will support Brentwood’s Climate Action Plan by designing and conducting community outreach and education activities on climate resilience, particularly for underserved communities.

Key activities include participating in the development of the Climate Action Plan, organizing community engagement sessions, conducting Spanish-language green infrastructure training for town employees, and advancing priority adaptation projects identified in the plan. The project will also focus on securing funding for the implementation of at least two adaptation projects. This initiative aims to build community capacity, foster environmental stewardship, and advance climate resilience in Brentwood, with a strong focus on equity and inclusion.
