Architectural Historian

Qualifications

Five or more years of experience, and a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field is preferred. Thorough knowledge of architectural history, building documentation methods, building materials, and state and national register guidelines for evaluating historic structures. Some project management experience preferred. Responsible for independent completion of HABS/HAER, NRs, and ILS/RLSs, as well as completing tasks to support other deliverable types. These could include; coordinating with client to initiate and complete field work (documentation/photography), performing field work, research, writing historical background and context for buildings or groups of buildings, building descriptions, and evaluating historic significance and integrity. Graphic support and mapping as needed.

Salary commensurate with experience.
