The University of Maryland and the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation offer comprehensive career and placement services for its students. Students are welcome to utilize all the career services offered by the University Career Services, as well as career services tailored to the opportunities in the Built Environment.

Career Fairs

The School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation holds an annual Career Fair in the early spring. This year the Career Fair will be held on February 26, 2021. In the past, the Fair has had over 85 firms looking to hire architecture, planning, historic preservation and real estate development students for both internships and full time positions. In addition, the University of Maryland holds a 3 day career fair in both the Fall and the Spring:

Our virtual career fair offers the opportunity for current students and alumni to connect with diverse employers seeking to hire for full-time, internship and part-time opportunities across a variety of industries.  See who is attending the Fall 2020 fair.

Resume Workshop, September 15, 2020. 12:00pm. Virtual discussion on the most effective resume for students and allied professionals.

Cover Letter Workshop, October 13, 2020 12:00pm.  Virtual discussion of how to create a compelling cover letter. 

Portfolio Workshop, November 17, 2020, 12:00pm.  The architecture portfolio is the greatest tool of a student to present themselves and their work to potential employers.
