Finlandskie Vorota (Finland Gateway)

The project was completed in an interdisciplinary, inter-cultural studio at St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, joining together US and Russian students and faculty with a range of disciplinary backgrounds including architecture, urban planning, real estate development, and historic preservation. Students collaborate in teams bringing multiple perspectives to the work. The focus of the studio is the redevelopment of a formerly industrial area to incorporate it into the urban fabric of St. Petersburg. The project centered on Finlandskie Railway Station, the gateway from Finland to Russia.
