KFH Group is seeking a Transportation Analyst or Planner with an interest in public transportation, microtransit and first mile, last mile multi-modal planning for the Bethesda, MD office. The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter with excellent communication and quantitative skills
The position’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Writing and producing professional transportation documents, tools, and presentations for clients and public engagement.
• Analyzing and mapping data in ArcGIS including transit ridership, demographics, land use characteristics, and a wide range of other features.
• Working with the public and engaging communities through a variety of approaches including surveys onboard buses, pop-up events, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, etc.
• Supporting project managers in developing meeting materials, including meeting minutes, public input summaries, drafting recommendations, and final planning documents.
• Conducting research and demonstrating critical thinking in solving transportation challenges. Applicants will need to be comfortable with the consulting work environment which includes working independently, variable workloads, some travel, and balancing multiple tasks while working with different project teams.
Education and experience requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems, transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field.
• 2+ years of applicable work experience.
• Demonstrated experience with technical and non-technical writing
• Demonstrated experience with graphic design and report development.
