Project Manager (Multiple Positions)

Position 1 is located at 7800 Harkins Rd Lanham, MD 20706. The Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.

Position 2 is located at 2 N Charles St, Suite 450, Baltimore, Maryland 21201 with occasional travel to DHCD’s main office in Lanham, Maryland

$24.44 to $31.72/hour (Grade 17, Base - Step 9 with promotional growth to $39.12)
Responsibilities

These Project Manager positions will administer Division of Neighborhood Revitalization grants, loans, and other services provided to local governments, nonprofit organizations and businesses, ensuring compliance with Departmental standards, and regulatory and statutory requirements. These positions will manage grants, monitor projects, provide technical assistance, assist with the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, and work closely with key officials, local governments, nonprofit organization sand other internal and external customers to ensure compliance with regulations, policy, laws and standards.

In particular,

Position 1 - Helps to manage the Community Development Block Grant and Maryland Affordable Housing Trust Programs.

Position 2 - Helps to manage several state revitalization programs.

Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of administrative or professional experience to include one year of financing experience or providing technical assistance for development or rehabilitation of multifamily or single family housing; neighborhood revitalization and business development; community infrastructure development; or historic preservation programs.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional administrative or professional experience as defined above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional job-related education at a rate of thirty credit hours for each year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in business and industry classification or business and industry specialty codes in the housing management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience with the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program
  • Experience administering grant programs to nonprofit organizations, government and or local jurisdictions.
  • Applicant needs to be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrate competence with database management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
