Preservation Architect / Designer

CRSA is seeking a Preservation Architect/Designer with 3-15 years of experience to join our establish preservation team working on renovation, adaptive reuse, and research-based projects.

Responsibilities

Project Management

• Participate in field assignments such as conditions and measurement surveys

• Proactive communication, collaborative problem solving, three-dimensional thinking, and self-direction

• Stewardship planning, writing, graphic analysis, and preservation design

• Working understanding of current and historic building and site technologies

• Prepare analysis of existing conditions and treatment options in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties

• Participate in all stages of project development, performing conceptual analysis documentation assignments, and developing CDs elements with limited supervision

• Participate in design review and documentation to meet State Historic Preservation Office and consulting agency requirements

• Assist in the coordination of drawings and specifications

• Represent the client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts

• Assist in construction observation activities and the development of associated field reports, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and ASIs

• Contribute to collaborative and effective working relationships with clients, the project team, and associated stakeholders

Business and Financial Management

• Prepare schedules representing the delivery of contracts documents

• Manage project finances, including manpower schedule, consulting contracts, and tracking and reporting on project progress

• Review and approve accounts payable and receivables Marketing • Participate in marketing efforts, including proposal writing, direct marketing, and interviews

 

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate has:

The ideal candidate has an enthusiasm to apply their passion for preservation to a myriad of projects large and small. The candidate must interested in joining a team of professionals, serving public and private clients, and both participate and lead the creation of strategy, approach, and outcomes in coordination with local, state and national preservation oversight organizations, clients, consultants and broad teams of stakeholders. Your work will be varied, from on site documentation, to the development of construction documents, to construction administration and project closeout. We need a well organized, savvy, team player who is excited to be leader in the preservation industry.

A minimum of 3 years of experience working on the development of architectural documents in Revit. We prefer a candidate with an architectural license or a candidate actively seeking licensure and a bachelor's degree in architecture with a preservation degree or certificate. Candidate should have the ability to: collect date, define problems, model and render solutions, collaborate with large teams of consultants, clients, contractors and subs. Bringing a working understanding of current and historic buildings and technologies, with an interest in exploring the unique conditions and treatment options for new projects.
