Responsibilities

What you will do:

In this role, you will review land use law and ensure compliance; Create processes and approaches to identify and develop statewide planning needs; Develop and coordinate Park Master Plans; Assist in the management of agency trails planning projects; Coordinate internal and external multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience in Planning work with a specific focus on land use. At least one year of the experience must be at a technical or professional level performing activities in the parks planning fields from resources inventory, through opportunities analysis to schematic design and for the design field from concept through construction;
    AND
    Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Recreation Planning, or closely related field; or three additional years of related experience.

    Master's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Recreation Planning or related field will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.

Special Requirements: 

  • To be hired, you must have a criminal records and driving records check that meets OPRD Criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment.
  • You must have a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and throughout employment

  • Computer proficiency in CAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Skill in evaluating situations, applying rules and guidelines, determining and carrying out appropriate course of action to achieve desired results.
  • Skill in facilitating and maintaining composure during emotionally charged situations and meetings.
  • Skill in communicating with diverse teams to ensure broad understanding.
  • Skill in working as part of a team and involving perspectives from across division sections.
