Land Acquisition Manager

We are a dominant self storage development and management company (under our Self Storage Plus brand) rapidly growing regionally and nationally. We are looking for a candidate to join our team as the Land Acquisition Manager to support our expansion of 15-20 self storage facilities annually.

The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who wants to be challenged, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and adapts easily to rapid change.  The Land Acquisitions Manager will be involved in all stages of our development process, with a focus on sourcing land for ground-up developments throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Region.  The role will report directly to the SVP of Investments.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, negotiate, and close 12 institutional quality self storage sites annually.
  • Identify and lead outreach to expansion markets nationally. 
  • Build relationships with local brokers, consultants, and key stakeholders to grow pipeline.
  • Research and analyze viability of new self storage sites nationally.
  • Manage pipeline of 20+ land acquisitions ensuring timely projects starts to meet aggressive growth goals.
  • Coordinate with VP of Development on land closing pipeline.
  • Work closely with operations and finance teams to take projects from site selection to construction start.
  • Create and manage project proforma’s along with the Vice President of Development.
  • Coordinate with Acquisitions and Finance teams on land and loan closings. 
  • Engage in outreach to owners, developers, and key stake holders in the commercial real estate industry to grow the Arcland and Self Storage Plus brands.
Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of commercial real estate development experience preferred
  • Experience negotiating real estate transactions preferred
  • Strong analytical background with experience underwriting real estate transactions
  • Comfortable with complex Microsoft Excel and other Office software

  • Opportunistic, entrepreneurial spirit, “go-getter”
  • Adaptable, ready to learn, and highly responsible 
  • Multi-tasking and effective time management
  • Effective telephone and in-person oral communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
