Historic Preservation Specialist

Join the Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s Historic Preservation Division. Historic Preservation Division manages 13 County owned historic sites and parks and averages nearly 150,000 visitors a year.

ABOUT THE JOB:
This person will provide public programs and tours of County owned historic sites, sharing a story that is creative and passionate, while continuing to enhance interpretation of County owned historic sites through exhibits, signage and media. This person will also serve as front line staff for the Division and will represent the Division at the historic sites, programs, and marketing missions with the Office of Tourism.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:
Qualified candidates will have experience working at historic house museums or historic sites with an emphasis on US and Virginia history. Experience in interpretation and tourism development a plus, ability to work on a small but energetic and forward looking team is a must. Must be able to communicate well with all types of customers such as adults, youth and individuals with special needs.
