Responsibilities

We are inviting qualified individuals to submit resumes/CVs for a project specific Architectural Historian or Historic Architect position. Typical workweeks are a blend of site visits and work-from home. Site locations vary but are typically in the Puget Sound and Central Washington regions. Qualified candidates meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualifications Standards for either Architectural History or Historic Architecture, and also have:

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting historic resource documentation in Washington State including completing historic property inventory forms (HPIs), reconnaissance and intensive level surveys, National Register of Historic Places Determination of Eligibility and nomination form preparation, Historic American Building Survey (HABS) and Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) documentation, and/or DAHP Level II & III historic property documentation.

Ability to travel to various project locations around Washington State.

A working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to cultural resources (e.g., Washington Governor's EO 0505, SEPA, NEPA, Section 106 of the NHPA).

Self-directed and organized work ethic with the ability to work independently and communicate with project managers and proponents.

Ability to manage work time efficiently and complete projects on time and within scope and budget.

Must have a history of good work attendance and punctuality and have reliable transportation.

Must have a or successfully apply for a DAHP WISAARD account within 1 week of hire.
