The Environmental Justice Summer Scholars Program

The Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health group (CEEJH) in the University of Maryland School of Public Health is launching it's 2023 Environmental Justice (EJ) Summer Scholars program!

Undergraduate students are invited to apply for this paid internship that will provide the opportunity for students passionate about environmental and climate justice to gain skills in research, science communication, community science, capacity building, environmental justice policy, and career planning. 

The summer program will be delivered in person. Up to 15 undergraduate students will be paid $5,000. 

We encourage students, particularly based in Maryland, D.C., Delaware, and Virginia, from underrepresented groups in the sciences, including people of color and women, and attending HBCUs, TCUs, and Hispanic and AAPI serving institutions to apply.

Application Instructions: The application is 2 PARTS. Part 1 is to respond to the following 11 questions and submit this form. Part 2 is to email your 1-2 page resume, your college transcript, and 1 recommendation letter as a pdf to ceejhcenter@gmail.com CC sking223@umd.edu.
