ABOUT THE POSITION
Avenue is seeking a Director of Finance and Underwriting to join its Real Estate Development Team. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. The role also requires several years of experience within the real estate industry with significant experience in financial modeling, due diligence, and data interpretation skills in accordance with real estate acquisitions, investments and developments for both single and multi-family financing opportunities, developments and acquisitions in keeping with Avenue's mission, and establishing partnerships that can further Avenue's goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

Education Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or equivalent relevant experience
Experience
– Minimum of 5+ years experience in Construction industry preferred, single and multi-family
- Nonprofit experience desirable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to constant change in daily priorities and tasks
- Knowledgeable in real estate transactions
- Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Financial acumen
- Responds promptly to requests for service and assistance
- Very comfortable talking with people in the community and initiating contact with professionals outside the organization
- Timely prepares reports and presentations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications basic data analysis techniques
- Exceptional Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and transportation to visit sites
Supervisory and Management Duties
- This position will have supervisory responsibilities.
