Cultural Resources Specialist

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is looking for a talented, innovative problem-solver to join our nationally recognized cultural resources team. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating historic resources; applying the National Register Criteria; conducting research and site visits; preparing reports including historic contexts, property descriptions, and eligibility evaluations; working with clients and project managers on architectural surveys and Section 106 compliance projects. Travel will be required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a bachelors or masters degree in historic preservation or a related field such as history, architectural history, or public history from an accredited four-year college or university, at least two years of relevant professional experience. 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: completing cultural resource management activities for Section 106 compliance projects; prior compliance work for transportation projects; authoring reports including architectural descriptions, historic contexts, and statements of significance; working knowledge of American architectural styles; conducting research and field surveys; applying the National Register Criteria; navigating project schedules and deadlines.  Prequalification by the Minnesota Department of Transportation in category 12.4 Architecture/History Studies is also ideal.
