Cultural Landscape Architect

This position works in collaboration with the Regional Historical Landscape Architect and may advise on technical landscape topics found within the parks of NCA. Research, planning, and stewardship are the framework for the duties of the Cultural Landscape Architect position.

TERM positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed twelve months, with possible extensions up to a total of four years without further competition.

Responsibilities

Manage Cultural Landscapes Inventory Projects and associated database (CL-CRIS) and interface with WASO Cultural Landscapes annual database reporting and public outreach goals.
Provide technical guidance for in-house and contracted projects for cultural landscapes.
Create written documentation, analysis, and evaluation of cultural landscapes following NPS standards as Cultural Landscape Inventories.
Conduct conditions assessments on cultural landscapes, their associated features and processes.
Create associated photographs, graphic documentation, mapping, and analytic diagrams to support cultural landscape documentation, analysis, and evaluation.
