Community Planner

for municipal, non-for-profit and private clients. We are a highly collaborative group of skilled
planners, landscape architects, and designers located in a walkable and bikeable urban
neighborhood.
We are seeking a passionate and energetic entry-level planner interested in working on a wide
variety of community planning projects, such as comprehensive planning, corridor planning, active
transportation planning and recreation and open space planning. The position will entail working
collaboratively within our office as well as with clients, project stakeholders, and other
consultants. The ideal candidate should share our values and want to learn and grow in

Qualifications

Requirements:
 Understanding of and commitment to planning practice.
 Strong writing and communication skills, and ability to present complex information clearly
via language and graphic design.
 Ability to apply principles of equity and sustainability in all forms of planning.
 Ability to organize and synthesize information into clear findings and detailed
recommendations.
 Comfort with research involving quantitative and qualitative data.
 Strong analytical skills.
 Facilitation skills – small and large groups, informal and formal meetings, non-traditional
community outreach, remote and in-person formats.
 Knowledge of Subdivision and Land Development ordinances and zoning ordinances.
 Knowledge of urban design concepts.
 Ability to make recommendations to governing bodies.
 Comfort with tools for project management, data analysis, presentation, and
communication.
 Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
 Ability to work independently and to partner effectively with colleagues and clients.
 Demonstrated experience with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
 Familiarity with ArcGIS or another GIS, preferred.
 Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code is a plus.
 Valid Driver’s License
