Arcland Property Company is a Real Estate Development & Investment Company based in Washington, DC.

Arcland Property Company (“Arcland”) was founded in 2006 and started building its first self storage project the following year. Since then, Arcland has evolved from a generalist commercial real estate development firm to a specialty player with fully integrated self storage capabilities developing, investing in, and operating in this sector. Since 2013, Arcland has built or acquired/repositioned 25 self storage properties.

Arcland is seeking an experienced and motivated leader to oversee its portfolio of self storage properties in the Washington DC metropolitan area.  Our properties form one of the premier and highest quality self storage portfolios in the nation. The portfolio currently totals 2.4 Million square feet of Class-A Real Estate Assets, and 27,184 units built, acquired or under construction (as of YE 2020), valued at $600,000,000.  We expect annual growth of 3-5 properties per year through our development activities.  Further growth is expected from our expanding acquisition efforts and we believe our portfolio value will grow to over $1 Billion in 2021.  

The vision for our asset manager is to successfully represent Arcland’s interests and drive profitability and accountability for property performance.  The asset manager will successfully leverage internal resources and our team at Self Storage Plus Management (our management company) to continue our industry leading revenue and profitability results.  

Self Storage Plus Management is our third party self storage management company managing locations in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia & West Virginia.

We are looking for a candidate to join our team as Asset Manager. In our company the best ideas win, and we will look to the Asset Manager to take our property performance to the next level through care and creativity. The Asset Manager role serves as the financial and compliance manager for Company owned properties. The role is as a primary liaison between operations (internal property management), finance, and certain external parties, to drive profitability through internal accountability. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated self-starter who is intellectually curious, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and adapts easily to rapid changes. The Asset Manager is responsible for management of capital projects including leading design, permitting, and construction as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Key performance indicator monitoring
  • Cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Coordinates annual budget process
  • Prepares financial statements, business activity reports and forecasts
  • Develops, organizes, and maintains client portfolio
  • Studies market trends to maximize profits, coordinating with Revenue Manager
  • Reviews, analyzes, and provides ROI for marketing spend
  • Reviews financial reports to create expense savings
  • Responsible for capital projects and repairs and maintenance
  • Performs periodic site visit
