The Office of Student Financial Aid will be your primary source of information regarding loans and other types of aid. You should work directly with that office's expert staff to identify the kinds of aid that are available to you.

Trade Association Scholarships
There are a number of trade association scholarship opportunities for students, often for those already enrolled in a graduate program. We recommend checking the associations’ web sites frequently for scholarship application deadlines and criteria. Some associations, like Commercial Real Estate Women, the Association of African American Real Estate Professionals, the Urban Land Institute, and the National Association of Home Builders, or many other associations that focus on construction, property management, investment trusts, senior housing and affordable housing, send scholarship announcements to the college. Many of the web sites are listed at the Colvin Institute’s affiliations page.
MRED Scholarships
The Program has limited funds for partial scholarships to incoming students. Typically these scholarships cover 10 – 30% of the MRED tuition and are paid directly to a student’s account upon completion of a course with a grade of B or higher.
Colvin Institute Part Time Work
The Colvin Institute employs several students each term who assist with classroom set up, event planning and production, graphics for marketing materials, updating the program and Colvin websites, writing and producing the monthly newsletter and other administrative duties. The more exciting part of this work is representing the institute at various local and national real estate trade shows and conferences. Applicants must commit to working a minimum of 1 year and preferably put in 15–20 hours a week. To apply contact Carrie Chard at cchard@umd.edu.
