Alex Donahue

Biography

Alex Donahue is currently a doctoral student in the Urban, Regional Planning, and Design program. His research work centers on equity in architectural and urban spaces through post-occupancy analysis and field research. He holds a professional Bachelor of Architecture, a post-professional Master of Architecture, and a Master of Real Estate. He has taught Arch400, Arch171 at the University of Maryland, College Park, and additional design studios at George Washington University.

Alex works at Michael Graves Architecture and Design, where he has designed projects of all scales, both in the United States and across the globe. He has previously practiced architecture at several internationally recognized design firms in New York City and Washington, D.C., including Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM), Pei Cobb Freed, and SITE. Donahue also produces independent product designs.

In 2020, Alex received an international GOOD Design award, sponsored by the Chicago Athenium and the European Center for Architecture and Urban Design in the field of product design.
