UMD researchers and alumni gathered last week with global experts in planning, sustainability and policy to explore best practices for shaping urban equity on a global scale. Held at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy in Cambridge, MA, the two-day workshop examined the use of data and indicators to monitor, measure and build equitable cities and to share how cities can leverage metrics to forward a variety of goals, from decreasing poverty levels to fostering equitable housing.

This is the first workshop in a series the NCSG hopes to spearhead globally, gathering advocates, scholars and practitioners to consolidate their knowledge to develop best practices for equity in cities. Learn more about NCSG’s work in foster urban equity here.
