The URPD Seminar Group's final Fall installment of our We the People? Reframing Social + Spatial Justice in 2020 series. We will be joined by Dr. Natalie Hopkinson of Howard University. She is an assistant professor in the Communication, Culture, and Media Studies Department at Howard. She is also Terp having earned her Doctorate in Journalism and Publication at UMD in 2007! She writes on culture, gentrification, gender, and race.
Dr. Hopkinson will be speaking about the recent Go-Go Awards. Go-Go music was developed in DC decades ago and plays an important role in the culture of Washington D.C.
