Vice President, Real Estate Equity Investment Group

Ullico, Inc., one of the nation’s largest sources for real estate first mortgage financing, is actively recruiting a Vice President to join their Real Estate Equity Investment Group. The Vice President, Real Estate Equity Investment Group (UREEIG) will drive the acquisition, financing and asset management activities of a to-be-built diversified portfolio of real estate properties. The position will lead the investment process and undertake meaningful work across multiple geographies within a new investment platform.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Source new investment opportunities through an established network of potential operating partners and the brokerage across property types and markets.
  • Engage in the full life cycle of the investment process from sourcing through exit, inclusive of underwriting, diligence, financing, workouts, reporting, repositioning, and sale.
  • Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and analysis of property and portfolio performance.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of investment recommendation memoranda to UREEIG’s investment committee and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual business plans and other presentations for UREEIG’s senior management and UREEIG’s clients and partners.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of materials for capital formation and coordinate with colleagues within Ullico’s fundraising team.
  • Oversee the preparation of research materials related to the overall economic environment as well as market specific research and forecasts.
  • Operate in a team-oriented environment to help drive the performance of the portfolio.
  • Interact frequently with colleagues across the organization and peers with in the industry.
  • Continually expand network of broker relationships and potential operating partners in order to source new investment opportunities.
  • Analyze and assess new markets and submarkets to determine suitability for investment.
  • Analyze and price new investment opportunities.
  • Build and refine proprietary models for underwriting of prospective transactions and ongoing portfolio management of acquired investments.
  • Assist with the preparation of investment recommendation memoranda and periodic investment management reporting materials.
  • Work with team to develop and execute property business plans.
  • Supervise the preparation of quarterly asset valuations.
  • Administer multiple tracking tools and deliverables.
  • Summarize conclusions generated from financial and situational analysis.
  • Interact with internal staff to support UREEIG’s investments.
  • Oversee the production of macroeconomic research and assist in writing proprietary presentations.
  • Assist with efforts to enhance management infrastructure and systems.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field, MBA preferred. A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience in a real estate investment capacity, preferably with exposure to acquisitions, financing and asset management activities of diversified portfolios for real estate properties. The candidate must be a strategic thinker who has an entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of engagement who is willing to assist with efforts to enhance management infrastructure and systems while growing a business. The candidate must be proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to meet deadlines and complete projects with minimal supervision. The candidate must have the ability to serve internal and external constituents in a fast paced and nimble environment with the capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Essential to this position are strong written and oral communication skills with a direct and open communication style, as well as, exceptional capability in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with a strong financial acumen; technically and quantitatively adept. ARGUS experience required.
