Marshland Connections

Centered around a constructed wetland, the new Monie Bay Field Station acts as an intermediary water purification element between the built environment and the marsh. The staggering of programs in the two separate buildings allows for close up connections to the marshlands from areas of research, and elevated views of Monie Creek from the living and sleeping spaces.

Paris Sim and Jared Schmitz won the 2019 AIA MD Excellence in Design Awards for their project. Two other students, Michael Delash and Trevor Wood received the same award for their Monie Bay Field Station project.
