The burning of fossil fuels is a primary causes of air pollution in the United States. Despite the growing availability of cleaner technology that improves local air, water, and soil quality, fuel-burning vehicles such trucks and cars remain a significant polluter. EFC works to improve air quality by assisting in the administration of grant programs to reduce diesel fuel emissions, particularly in and around major ports in the mid-Atlantic region.
