2024 Colvin Case Study Challenge - Third Place

The redevelopment of the Battery Maritime Building (the “BMB”) led by developer Centaur Properties is a prime example of adaptive reuse. Supported by operator Cipriani, equity partner Midtown Equities, and designed by Marvel Architects, the revitalization adaptive reuse a historic ferry terminal into a vibrant mixed-use property. Located at the southern tip of Manhattan, the once deteriorating structure has become a luxury boutique hotel and spa, private club and state-of-the-art event venue while integrating the fully operating ferry terminal.
