The change of major period for Fall 2025 has now closed. Any change of major requests submitted at this time will be processed for Spring 2026. The Spring 2026 change of major process will open on September 17, 2025 and close on January 5, 2026.
You may still submit your request through TerpEngage between now and September 17, 2025. All requests submitted during this time will be reviewed starting September 17th, and any approved changes will take effect for Spring 2026. ELMS invitations will still be sent while your request is pending.
Please note: Any requests submitted after June 2nd will be reviewed in Fall 2025 and, if approved, will be effective for Spring 2026.
Current UMD students interested in declaring a School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation major as a primary or secondary major* must complete the following change of major process:
Step 1: TerpEngage Major Change Request
Step 2: Complete Canvas Course
Step 3: Form Completion
Step 4: Meet with an Advisor (after September 17th)
*Students wishing to earn a double major or a double degree may need additional advising and coordination with the advising office of their other major prior to course registration.
