Stefano Passeri is an Italian-born architect and educator. His research interests include the history of representation, the role of error in contemporary aesthetic discourse, and impermanent design.
At the University of Maryland, he teaches an introduction to computational design methods. Prior to this appointment, Stefano was Undergraduate Thesis Coordinator at the Rensselaer School of Architecture in Troy, NY, and a Design of Theory Fellow at SCI-Arc in Los Angeles.
He has worked at several award-winning architecture and design firms in the United States and Europe, including Eric Owen Moss Architects (Los Angeles), Second Story (Portland), and HOK/Populous (London & New York).
Stefano holds a Master's of Architecture from SCI-Arc, a BSc in Architecture from the Bartlett, University College London, an MA in Philosophy from the University of London, and a BA in Fine Art from the University of Surrey.
He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Frank O. Gehry Prize for Best Graduate Thesis and the AIA Henry Adams Medal. His work has been widely exhibited and published in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
