Medessa Burian
Medessa has more than 18 years of experience in the environmental, public health, and education-related fields. She joined the Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland in 2011 and currently serves as Assistant Director. Prior to this role, Medessa was a Program Manager, overseeing a range of projects related to air quality, sustainability, and online stormwater education and training. Prior to joining EFC, Medessa worked as a Project Director for Shattuck & Associates, Inc. performing technical assistance, training, capacity building, and practical evaluation for government and non-governmental health and education organizations. She received a Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.S. in Biology from Centre College in her home state of Kentucky.
