Biography

Marcus A. Cross, AIA, NOMA, NCARB is a lecturer at the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.  As Managing Principal at Alliance Architecture, Marcus manages a team of 20 designers and architects with studios in both the District of Columbia and Annapolis, Maryland.  Registered to practice in over 19 U.S. States, Marcus has executed projects across the country and has also completed projects in Dublin, Ireland; Bangalore, India; and Sydney, Australia.  Marcus specializes in commercial architecture and with a special interest in adaptive re-use as demonstrated by his award winning work on the LEED Gold Citrix headquarters building in Raleigh, NC.  He’s also regarded by clients for pushing innovative project delivery methods that allow his clients to build around the globe.

Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland at College Park. While at the University of Illinois, Marcus spent a year studying in Versailles, France where he traveled to over 44 cities on sketch trips.
