Jennifer Xu, Ph.D., AIA

Biography

Jennifer Xu is a licensed architect in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia with over twenty years of experience. Her practice area includes schools, universities, civic buildings, and senior living facilities. Throughout her career, she has mainly focused on sustainability and worked on net-zero and LEED platinum projects. She spent the last twelve years working as a senior project manager for K-12 and higher education institutions, overseeing projects from planning to completion.

At the University of Maryland, Jennifer started teaching undergraduate courses in 2021. She taught Methods and Materials of Building Construction and Environmental Systems in Architecture. She was a member of the Learning Outcomes Assessment Review in the Fall 2021 and participated in the Spring Thesis Review in May 2022.

Jennifer has been a judge for ABC Construction Awards since 2010 and promotes building information management and visualization in design and construction.
