Biography

Bryan Quinn currently serves in the role of Technical Director for the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) as well as the Institute for Research in Electronics & Applied Physics (IREAP) at the University of Maryland. He hold degrees in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications. His day job entails doing what it takes to keep multi-million dollar research and technical educational programs running. This includes logistical and technical expertise in everything from classroom design for better student engagement to building diagnostic devices for particle accelerators. His true passions are experiential and service learning.  He has mentored several student competition teams, including the electrical team of the University of Maryland’s 2017 Solar Decathlon entry. Since 2009 he has worked with many NGOs in developing communities and disaster recovery.  He has designed and implemented renewable energy and potable water systems in developing communities and small scale farms across 4 continents. His goal is to engage fulltime with sustainable power development and usage projects.
