Biography

A qualified planner since 1994, Adam is the Planning Supervisor, Placemaking Section, in the Prince George’s County Planning Department, a role he took up in 2019. Prior to moving to the US, he worked in planning at local, regional and national Government levels in England and he wrote national legislation to simplify the plan making process in 2006, and then worked for the Planning Advisory Service, leading work with councils to improve their plan making and delivery, up until moving to the US in 2017. Since joining M-NCPPC in 2018, he has taken the role of Supervisor in the Placemaking section, with a focus on implementing plan policies and strategies at the local level. Adam has led the section on three pilot placemaking activations, working with different local communities to provide activation of local spaces. He now leads the team in partnering with more communities to deliver wide-ranging projects, from art installations, to road diets, to community events. Adam is also a member of the M-NCPPC Diversity Council and chairs the events committee. He lives with his husband, Corey, and their two Weimaraners, Monty and Lincoln, in Prince George's County. In his spare time he writes and records music, and loves playing tennis as well as supporting his favourite soccer team back home in England.
