PALS Program Wraps Anne Arundel County Partnership with Project Gallery Event in Annapolis
Students from eight UMD campus programs convened this month in Annapolis to present the results of their semester-long work for Anne Arundel County and the City of Annapolis as part of the Partnership for Action Learning in Sustainability (PALS) program. The event highlighted a number of high-priority projects, from tools that can digitally track accessibility issues within the county for aging and disabled citizens to revitalization plans for the county’s beloved Arlington Echo park.
Last semester, students delivered 14 projects to county and city officials, including a vision for a new urban park in Odenton Town Center and a trail connection between Anne Arundel and Howard counties.
“It’s unbelievable the work that the students accomplished,” said Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh. “It’s very important to tap this resource because of the new ideas and perspectives we get from the students.”
