“Video Wall” project explores challenges and opportunities of planning for an increasingly diverse society
The University of Maryland’s Urban Studies and Planning Program has released “Video Wall: Planning for a Diverse Community,” a year-long video project that explores how the dramatic racial and ethnic shifts of U.S. communities are shaping the work of urban planners, and how professionals are preparing for an increasingly diverse society. Featuring the perspectives of eight planning professionals, including Maryland Department of Planning Secretary Richard Hall and Executive Director for Teach for America-Detroit, Tiffany Williams (M.C.P. ‘08), the video wall aims to educate the UMD community and the public about the wide scope of urban planning.
“Video Wall: Planning for a Diverse Community” will exist as a “living” video diary, featuring new videos each year that address the changing fabric of our urban and social environments. The project was developed with support from the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Maryland.
