University of Maryland students and alums received top honors for their architectural projects at the annual AIA Maryland Excellence in Design Awards Celebration. This year’s event was held on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation - Philip Merrill Environmental Center in Annapolis, Maryland.
The award celebration recognizes built or unbuilt projects for their innovation and design excellence. The University of Maryland won seven out of the eight awards given in the student categories; two MAPP alums earned accolades in historic preservation architecture and interior architecture.
“We are always proud to celebrate the creativity of our current and former students for their outstanding work,” said Dawn Jourdan, dean of the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. “The AIA Maryland Awards are just one measure of the excellence of their projects.”
